Ligustrum ovalifolium Aureum
Privets (green and golden varieties) usually retain their leaves in Winter, though may loose a few leaves in severely cold winters / coastal regions and sometimes in the winter period after planting. The white flowers in Summer are a richly attractive source of nectar and therefore pollination insects – including bees, moths and butterflies. Can be closely clipped to produce a dense formal hedge.
