Tips & Advice
One of The Tree Barn’s frequently asked questions is how we keep all our stock (hedging plants, Christmas Trees and other nursery stock) so fresh and healthy looking?
The answer is our plant fertilising regime.
You can also freshen up your existing trees and shrubs with the same fertiliser that we use year-round. Your freshly planted hedges will also greatly benefit by an application.
The fertiliser we use is YARA MILA COMPLEX FERTILISER.
Existing garden stock is ideally treated twice a year in Autumn/Winter time and again in Spring.
Freshly planted stock – hedging, bushes and trees – should be treated straight after planting to maximise successful establishment.
Sprinkle the blue fertiliser grains around plants on the soil surface – nature and the rain does the rest. Simple!
The blue grains dissolve into the soil moisture and work their way downwards to actively stimulate root growth.
The application rate depends on the plant height – 10 grams (2 teaspoonfuls) for every 50 cms of height.
The fertiliser analysis is 12-11-18 + Mg + TE
This means 12 parts Nitrogen, 11 parts Potash, 18 parts Potassium plus Magnesium plus Trace Elements.
The Tree Barn stocks this ‘miracle’ fertiliser, for sale in 1 Kilo, 500 grams, 250 grams and 100 gram packs. All at £6 per kilo.
